FAQ
Everything worth knowing before you go
What's included in the 42RunTravel package?
Hotel, transfers (airport, hotel–start–hotel, to the expo), breakfast, and on-site 42RunTravel support. Exact scope varies by level — check the comparison table above. Available as optional add-ons: a guaranteed race bib and flight.
What's included in the race pack (BIB)?
The race pack includes your bib number with a timing chip, an official technical race t-shirt, access to on-course water and nutrition stations, a bag drop for personal belongings, and a finisher medal. After the race, you'll also receive an electronic finisher certificate with your official time.
When does registration for Rome 2027 close?
Registration is limited to 20 spots and closes on December 12th, 2026, or once all spots are filled - whichever comes first. The number of race packages is limited by our reserved allocation of bib numbers, so early booking is recommended.
After booking, participation must be confirmed directly on the race organizer's website (RCS Roma) by December 15th, 2026. We'll notify you of this step and provide all the necessary instructions.
If I am unable to participate in the race, will I be albe to obtain a refund?
It is possible to transfer your registration for the 2027 edition no later than 31/12/2025 at a cost of €30 by sending the request to rrtm@evodata.it.
From January 1, 2026 to February 15, 2026, each participant may request a refund of the participation fee, from which 25 euros in administrative costs will be deducted, only if a person on the waiting list takes (see dedicated section) the vacated spot. Any purchased products will not be refunded. The organization will manage the entire process.
Will I receive a confirmation letter of my race registration?
A few days before the race, all athletes who have registered will receive an e-mail as an official "letter of confirmation."
This e-mail will contain all the basic instructions for collecting your bib number and taking part in the race. You do not need to print a hard copy of the email itself; you can present it on a device such as a smartphone or tablet.
How will I collect my BIB?

You can pick up your bib (and race pack) at the Expo Run Rome The Marathon. The Expo will be at Circo Massimo on the following days and times:
- Thursday, March 19 | 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Friday, March 20 | 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Saturday, March 21 | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Sunday, March 22 | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (exceptional opening hours on the day of the marathon for visitors, NOT for bib collection!)
42RunTravel provides transport to the Expo for all guests.
What Is the Date of the Marathon and Starting Time?
The Run Rome The Marathon will take place on Sunday 14 March 2027, starting in Via dei Fori Imperiali at 8:30 am.
What is the average temperature on the day of the race?
The average temperature in Rome at the end of March is about 13, with about 9 degrees at the start.
What points does the route pass through?
The most famous and beautiful places in Rome: Fori Imperiali and Colosseo are the starting and ending points, Arco di Costantino, Circo Massimo, Porta San Paolo, Piramide Cestia, Basilica di San Paolo, San Pietro, Foro Italico, Piazza Augusto Imperatore, Ara Pacis, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza di Spagna, Piazza Navona, Campidoglio steps, Teatro Marcello, Bocca della Verità. (the route may be subject to some small variations).
Can I buy just the race bib, without the rest of the package?
No. The bib is a paid add-on within a package — it's a guaranteed spot from our pool of 20 numbers via RCS Sport, the race organizer, available even once official registration has closed.
Can I bring someone who isn't running?
Yes. In the configurator, you can add companions - they don't need a race bib and don't have to run.
